If you drop Gunler, Carolina probably considers it, but I think ultimately this is still a pass. There are roughly 10 games a year Bertuzzi can't play anyway because they're in Canada, plus he's got some injury concerns. A fantastic player, but just way too much when the Canes can chase cheaper alternatives in the free-agent market.

What injury concerns do you speak of? He played every game in the US this year I'm pretty sure. Just cause the guy got a serious injury one time in his career doesn't really make him a concern for injuries. Also the value isn't there. Hunker isn't a prospect we really want and I like Ethan Bear but he isn't needed in Detroit. We would want someone like Drury.

Also Bertuzzi on the canes would be absolutely nuts I think. He's basically a point per game player on one of the worst teams in the league, if he was on the hurricanes I think he could be around 100 point guy.
