There's no chance that any GM of any team trades a 2023 first rounder unprotected with Bedard coming. Especially a team who finished in the bottom 10 for the last 5 years.

Michkov and Fantilli too. You're right, nevermind!

1st in 2022 (OTT), Connor Brown, 2nd in 2022 (TB)

Or just have a protection for that 2023 first

Where's the top six forward we're getting? Brown, playing 20 minutes a night in Ottawa with all that talent, managed to score at almost a 50 point pace. He's about as much a top 6 forward as Frederick Gaudreau, and to be frank, I don't really like Gaudreau as our 2C long term. Not to mention Brown only has 1 season before he's due a raise we can't give him, so he's purely a rental in any capacity.

I mean it's fine if he's a secondary piece, he's a fine secondary piece, but Minnesota should be getting one piece, whether a prospect or pick, that they really want, and is a long term asset. And honestly, outside of Ottawa's 1st this year, I don't think they have one of those that they'd be willing to trade.

Copy/paste from the other thread :

0.61 PPG in Ottawa in 191 games. That's exactly 50 pts per 82 games.

43 of his 47 goals at ES/PK, 57 of his 70 assists at ES/PK too. Only 14% of his production on PP

Doesn't matter how many minutes he plays, he plays almost 3 minutes per game on the PK and near 60% of his ES ZS are in the defensive zone. Everyone knows he mostly deployed as a matchup forward facing top competition

Oh and 2nd in takeaways behind the King himself (Mark Stone) last season. Voted 17th for the Selke.

He's not a Top-6 forward but he produces like 2nd liners do. That's extremely valuable

Call him an elite 3rd liner if you want, it doesn't matter. He's in the same ilk as the Pageaus, Danaults, etc
