Barabonov confirmed

Created by: Waffelz
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: May 9, 2022
Published: May 9, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Likely opening night roster on top, guys who will probably see an NHL game on the taxi squad. Simek likely gets buried in the AHL, or gets sent to another team along with a late round pick to dump some cap.

Plenty of cap space left over, I could see the bringing in a forward on a 1-2 year deal. You need to save cap to sign Meier in the off-season.

I think you have a Fair assessment, but word out in the rumor mills is we are looking to deal Burns or Karlsson in the off-season.
Articles were saying we had preliminary talks with a few teams on Karlsson at the TDL, and Burns kind of hinted that he would consider a deal to chase a cup.
Simek should be 100% gone this off season, he is mad at the sharks and has accused them of lying to him so bringing him back is a bad idea.
I would look to deal him Balcers and/ Or Nieto. Nieto and or Balcers because we have 4-5 players who could easily replicate their production both defensivly and offensively in Gregor, leonard, Chmevelski, Raska & Weatherby Etc. and a few who have potential to far eclipse them offensively in Dahlen, Gushin Robbins Coe & Weisblatt.

I saw that too, I'm also working on an alternative armchair GM with an EK65 deal. I agree that Simek should go, but I wouldn't ever give up resources to do so unless they genuinely think they can compete. I think Nieto should go before Balcers, but I could see one of them going as well.

I have posted Balcers and Simke to Arizona for our 24 4th with positive feedback, Arizona probably plays at the cap floor the next few years so cheaper younger vets who can contribute but wont cost much kinda fit what I feel they are planning. but I've been wrong before! hell i figured Barabanov 3-4 for 3-3.5 boy was I wrong!
