I've looked a lot of far out trades from the Knights on here but this might be the worst serious one I've seen yet

Okay, CBrown is worth 1st. with Retention, call that 1st+.

16OA might be a bit high to consider that 1st+, but for the sake of simplicity lets say so.

So the trade is then

Roy + Marchessault + Patrick for a 2nd?

Thats a ROUGH offer. Laughable.

Yeah that 2nd part doesn't work as Marchessault is NOT a cap dump. Removing Roy would get it closer but even then, Marchessault has comfortably more value than a 2nd

Teams won't easily help a GM in cap troubles go out easy. Cap dumps would take picks going the other way and Marchessault is over 30 on a 5 million cap hit with a team that has Eichel, Stone, Pathces, and more. Arizona can make an easier deal for the Knights but they are in the same division and helping out your potential rivals makes little sense. Rielly Smith and Dadonov are other tradeable names. Martinez would be costly to trade with picks going the other way and losing a D man
