Description
So i had discussed the acqusition of all the players below except tkachuk and nash. Looking at that lw it was abysmal so we trade our 2018 first, jvr and a prospect for tkachuk. I think its fair as the two players are comparable and the pick and prospect make up for age. Second Nash as ufa is not worth 7 million. But for a one year contract thats probably what he will ask. It works out long term as his contract expires before the matthews and marner extensions. He can also teach rychel and if it works out well and somebody steps up, nash can be flipped at the deadline. Would still be well under the cap though long term may need to make tough decisions like chicago does year after year. But over all probably the most stacked team in the nhl if this happens.

Rick Nash already said that he has no desire to play in Canada all Canadian teams are on his NMC and Zero chance that Liljegren falls all the way to #18,

Its really hard to evaluate him in his first year..he was just shy of 50 points and putting him on a line with mathews and marner should get him to around 60-65..that said JVR is going to be a perennial 25-35 goal scored and 70 point guy for probably the next 5-6 years if he were to play with matthews and marner. The flames have a solid core right now and probably want to win a championship before some of their key players get too old. The first would be 20-25th range but next years draft is said to be much deeper with a few stars in dahlen and company..they could trade their two firsts to move up and snag a beauty in that draft..and on top of that theres another young prospect. I think its fair but what would you add to even out the deal.

I agree, nash does have a ntc..but i dont see how that effects him signing as a free agent..also he said that in a year when none of the canadian teams made the playoffs and jerseys were thrown on the ice....i think the aging core in NY with the potential to play for his hometown team at a very generous salary at the risk of only one year is good enough to lock him up. I also agree that liljegren wont fall to 18 thats why you should look at my last post where i propose trading up into the 12-8 position to draft him..where almost 99%of mock drafts have him going now.
