Description

JR makes one of his gentleman deals with his old employers at the Canes for the 12th overall pick and one of his old loyal pals, Cam Ward (with enough retained salary to make it worthwhile). This is doable given the demand that will be out there for Fleury after his strong playoff (up to now).

I protect 8 skaters (Sid, Malkin, Kessel, Hornqvist, Letang, Dumoulin, Maatta, Schultz) along with Murray. After a strong playoff (especially if he gets some time on Sid's line if Hornqvist is out for any time), Rust gets taken by Vegas- a really shitty loss, but one that the Pens can bear with Sprong coming along nicely this year after the injury and looking ever closer to NHL-ready. Bonino comes back on a favorable deal that allows for working in Dumoulin, Scultz, and Sheary extensions. Streit convinced to come back at a Matt Cullen salary. Probably a depth forward or two left to sign; I leave some space to allow for multiple Cap Scenarios. Could be a good idea to give Rowney a chance to show what he can do in a contract year for him, after he showed a lot of nice moxey early in the playoffs.
