Ok, Fiala and Addison for 2nd overall is definitely way too steep. They would have to also remove their prospect and the wild have to add something after that to even make it a convo imo.

Interesting contrasting viewpoints based on who you're a fan of. I'll say, I'm a fan of the Wild, so it's not like I was trying to screw them over here.

Why? NJ drops ~20 spots here. Yes, they get the proven commodity and the better prospect, but IMO, the writing is on the wall that Addison probably doesn't have a long-term future in Minnesota. In return, Minnesota gets its #1 center for the next 15 years in either Cooley or Wright. If this was for the first overall pick would you still say we need to take out the first? Because more than likely we'd be talking that Minnesota needs to add more, which I think they still might for the second overall pick but this seems like a pretty decent starting point.

You're right, hence the pick swap. Three REALLY good pieces coming the Devils way here and yet there may need to be more. It basically comes down to, does NJ want to draft another high end center with and already stacked and young center core (Hughes, Hischier, Mercer is gonna be NASTY), do they want to draft a high end winger in Slafkovsky (who I LOVE but not a current team need), or do they start bringing in the finishing touches of the rebuild? Fiala would look great next to Hughes or Hischier, so would Slafkovsky, but like I said above, this seems like a decent starting point for Guerin and Fitzgerald to work with and figure something out.
