Very Few Changes

Created by: Hockyluv21
Team: 2022-23 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2022
Published: May 16, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Other than helping Seattle a bit with their hand imbalance and a couple of tweaks to the bottom pair, this team doesn't need any radical changes whatsoever, especially if you think that Kotkaniemi (one of the more productive players this year relative to extremely limited minutes) is ready for a breakout season with more ice time.

No chance that Necas gets 5mil next year. Drury will likely take the 4C role, and TDA likely gets a smaller contract. Canes likely resign Nino as well. Love that bottom pairing though.

If the contract is 6 years or more, I could see it. That deal I posted really could be a buy-low if Carolina continues to take young player bets like they just did with Kotkaniemi. That's the thing, though. I either see Carolina betting strongly on Necas or trading him in a package for a for-sure upgrade (like Fiala, for example). I don't see Carolina taking a middling bridge-contract approach or trading him for picks.
