Description
Signing Kadri would be something eh?? Give him the sixth year to keep it at 7m AAV. With the cap only going up 1 mill and the lack of cap space around the league will anyone go above and beyond for Kadri? Bruins need to do something at 2C, either make a trade or sign someone, and I don't have faith Sweeney will pull the trigger on a trade.

Other than that I think one or both of Reilly and Gryz are on the move. With the trade for Lindholm, signing of Zboril, and (future) signing of Achan you don't really need Gryz's 3.6M on the books. He needs surgery so who the heck knows.

Wanted to do a full revamp of the bottom six but Smith's contract won't allow that. Personally believe the 4th line will be shaken up unless Lazar is re-signed. I like the idea of going younger on the fourth line with the veterans in your top nine. Bruins need speed and you get plenty of it with that trio.

all i can picture in my head with that first trade is the Mad Money guy smashing a big button that says "MIKE REILLY STOCK: DOWN!!!"

I think you're selling short on Grz/Nosek and honestly wouldn't the Isles sending out their late 2nd for that package instead. Nosek is buriable/flippable in his walk year, and I think Grz would be a solid LD2 paired with Dobson.

Foligno to the Wild is tough if only because they're in such a tight cap crunch next season and need every dollar they can get their hands on. It'll cost a little more to buy him out, but I think that's the easiest move to get his money off your cap.

Best bet on Foligno Is to RS at 50 percent and hope someone gives a late rounder. Prevents future dead cap

If you can't find a dance partner on that, though, the buyout isn't awful. The dead cap charge is only one extra year, and would only be $933K. Not ideal, but I think it's easily worked around - you'll be losing the Wagner/Haula/Craig Smith contracts that summer, and while you need to replace at least one of them, I think you can find affordable replacements and still carry that charge without it being a burden.

Agree completely. The buyout isn't a bad option, and honestly bet Foligno would sign for the minimum with Minnesota anyways.

Just bury him in the AHL next year. You'll save about 800k less in cap space vs buying him out, but you don't have to worry about carrying anything the following season.
