Coming off a 85 point season. You're not getting Kevin Fiala that cheaply. Probably closer to $8,000,000 x 8 years to $8,500,000 x 8 years. He's getting a lot more than $7,250,000 per long term.

Minnesota declines, they have some aspirations to re-sign Fiala so they won't be trading him for scraps

Good, because he'd be a fool to sign what you're offering him, Evolving Hockey has him @ $9,400,000 x 8 years and they're a pretty reliable source for player signings.

When they are very cheap and also very good, they get more. You find a goalie with the same skill level at that price and let me know what you pay for him.

I mean, I actually don’t lol. He’s the last goalie I would want from you guys and pretty far down my list of targets. The devils don’t need another one of these older guys.

Do you have any comparable trades that would support that "very cheap and very good" old UFAs bring in a 2nd plus prospect

I'd pay a 2nd for Lehner (term, strong track record). I'd pay a 3rd for Vancek (strong 5v5 goalie with team control)

I'd pay a 2nd or 3rd for Driedger (strong underlyings with team control)

Well yeah, I mean, by all accounts, Fifi has priced himself out of Minny quite handily. The only way the Wild create the cap space to re-sign him is make a sacrifice on another part of the roster
