100% agree, Fiala really holds a lot of cards here. But I do think he wants a long term deal, he'll be on his 3rd team already. He did want to sign a long term deal with MN, but Billy G didn't commit to that. Does he really want to play 1 lame duck season somewhere then move onto his 4th team? We shall see, but he definitely could pull this move, but lets not forget the personal impact of doing that. He generally does come off as a super nice guy, and if I was the GM of MN, I would re-sign him and not trade him. Which I will point out, could still happen with other roster manipulation. That might be my next lineup.

Sure. But say he only wants to play with, idk, his summer training partner and international center (whoever that may be, who's to say)! Limits trade options!

You're right, it 100% it does, and that absolutely could happen. That's a great personal life aspect that could play a part in all of this. I am still hoping the Wild re-sign Fiala and trade other pieces to make it happen. The way Russo and others in MN have talked, that doesn't sound likely at this point because Billy G believes he'll get a haul for Fiala and the Dumba market isn't as promising. I guess we'll find out if Billy G is correct.

Philly keep popping up because of Wild fans. PHI has no interest.

How do you know Phili has "no interested"? Source?

GMCF has traded for Ellis. Traded for and re-signed Risto (the same player as Dumba). Adding Dumba to the mix just means Philly would have an expensive 3RD. There isn't any interest.

So no sources just reading tea leaves. Which is fine, and makes sense. I actually agree with your assessment, but I’d hardly say “no interest”. If Dumba were available on the cheap (4th RD-salary dump to keep Fiala), I have to believe Chuck would have some level of interest.

The hoops you'd have to jump though to make that work are crazy. Other team will give up more because Dumba meets a need for them. He meets no need for PHI. So yes, no interest from PHI.

It's a lazy think Wild fans do to open cap because of GMCF ties. It's no different than all TOR trades on here that send Holl to MN because he's from the state.

One could also argue you’re taking the “lazy” route by saying that. It’s definitely a possibility (even if it’s not likely) and thus not “no interest”.
