Cause more cap problem?? This isn’t my ACGM and I just rather resign Geno for 7.5M than pay Monahan 6.375M(who played on the 4th line this season and had 8 goals).

Dumoulin is making 4M per for 1 more season. And is just 30 years old and still plays 20 plus minutes a night on a play-off team. He’s a second pairing at worst. Most teams he’s still a 1st pairing LHD. The Pens(a play-off team) he’s still a 1st pairing most of time.

Kappy is a RFA and even if he goes to a arb hearing the most he gets is 2.5M per.

But paying Monahan, Calgary’s 4L center, 6.375M is less of a salary cap problem?? Weird take and I disagree. But ok.

Your 3rd or 4th line Center making 6.3M. Or your 2nd pairing LHD making 4M and your 3rd line RW making 2.5M..?? Hummm…??

Cute response. I never said thos was a good trade for Pittsburgh so dont just assume that. This is purely from a cap space perspective. Calgary needs to move at least 5-6M out while taking less than 1M back.

Monahan played bottom 6 because he was playing injured. If you bothered to even put an ounce of effort into research you would no that.

Doumolin would either A) push Kylington down the lineup and block his growth, or B) play 3rd pair in Calgary. Either way at 4.1M that is not needed. If Kapanen gets anything less than 3M he should probably fire his agent. Also he would be 4th line RW in Calgary as Tkachuk, Toffoli, and Coleman are all above him

Monahan played 4th line b/c he was struggling too. Injury or not. Handy been a 2L center the past 2 seasons. He’s still young but at 6.3M per. Good luck.

And we’ll see. 11 goals and 31 points in 79 games(.39PPG). Even in a arb hearing that’s not 3M per.

His QO is 840K. He’ll probably take it to an arb hearing but I doubt he gets over 3M per. I would say 2.25M-2.75M.
