I highly doubt Duclair with his modest 3M cap hit becomes a cap casualty. Montour and Hornqvist are first on the list

That Montreal trade stands out as an easy no from Ottawa's end.

White is still an effective player albeit a little overpaid, whereas Byron is on his last legs and is best suited for 4th line or 13th forward duties. His cap hit isn't worth what he can offer. It's downgrading from a younger and better player to save only a couple hundred thousand?

If he's going to Montreal, it would (hopefully) be for Armia plus assets or better. It's still a downgrade for an older player, but at least Armia can play on a 3rd line still.

possibly montour but we need someone that will fit with sanderson...Hornqvist i dont see him a potential top 6 forward we need? so i thought maybe duclair since he played for us before and like (NJ,det, Anaheim) we have assets ( picks and prospects) that teams that are in a cap position like panthers and other top contending teams are in need of

reason for byron final year of contract and u know ottawa likes to get those type of contracts...lol plus if heality can help out 3rd/4th line when needed

Yeah, I didn't think this from the Sens' perspective.

I don't think contending teams like to sell their players for picks and prospects, tho. That's kind of the opposite of what they want to do. What they usually want are contributors with cheap contracts, like Duclair
