If that's the best offer for John Klingberg he walks, he wont take anything less than $6,500,000 x 8 years the Krug and Lindholm deals.

I think he wants to stay in DAL and DAL has to give big money to Robbertson/Oettinger so maybe he takes a discount to win

Give Robertson 4 years or 8 years, nothing else. If you give him 4 years, it takes him to his last year of RFA eligibility, allowing Dallas to maximize the amount contract control (12 potential years of contractual control). An 8-year deal is obviously a plan B that allows the Stars to give him the biggest contract possible THIS offseason.

A 6-year deal doesn't maximize the length of his next contract or maximize potential contractual control. It simply isn't wise for Dallas to offer this kind of contract, because all it does is allow Robertson to test free agency after his age 28 season; right in the middle of his prime.

I'd rather the Stars give Robinson a 4-year bridge deal to allow the team to shed salary and the overall salary cap to go up.

I don't think Wedgewood is going to be any higher than 1M AAV. Nor do I see them bringing Radulov or Spezza back.

Klingberg's contract is lower than what he is seeking, so he'll walk if that's the offer he takes. Doesn't seem like he's keen on taking a hometown discount either.
