What do you think of this team?

The trades are simply players I think the Leafs should trade, even if they need to pay some picks, so don't look at the return/or the team.

Yeah TBH I haven't seen him play much. I also really liked Lyu but that money could be on Bear if they think he is better suited for them

Why are Leafs fans suddenly so high on Necas? I get trading Nylander, but I don't think people realize how much better he is than Necas. I would rather keep nylander for the extra 1.9 million.

fully agree with you, and I don't know what Necas contract will look like, but he just turned 23, he has place to developped and wasn't on the first PP compared to Nylander.
I think everyone knows he is not as good and probably won't get as good, but to save 2 millions or more per year would be huge for any cap straped team.

Also Nylander needs a contract in 2 years, this way necas is locked for 5 years. The difference in cap hit will even be bigger in 2 years.

Maybe that's true, but I'm not sure this makes the team better now or the year after. 2 million might seem like a lot on paper, but in reality, that extra cap space has to be used on a player that may not perform to expectations, whereas Nylander's contract is fair at worst.

Nylander has been de driving force on that second line for sure. and Kerfoot at 3.5, very versatile and 50 points, won't find that either. Kerfoot won't be resign after this season, wonder if they will be able to afford nylander either in 2.

I prefer having a line of JT-Trocheck-Necas for the next 3-5 years than having to loose those guys in the next 1-2 years.

And TBH, if they decide to keep the team as it was last season you won't see me complain. Just thought that if they decide to trade nylander, thats what I would want in return.

If Carolina moves Necas and Bear, they have the space for Trocheck to come back. It's very unlikely they will move on from both Trocheck and Necas.

I said this in the introduction : The trades are simply players I think the Leafs should trade, even if they need to pay some picks, so don't look at the return/or the team.

They could be traded to whoever I couldn't care less, even if they need to be trade with pick then so be it. They need to be moved for cap reason.

The only one there with negative value is Mrazek.
