I don't mind the team but you gave Pitlick about twice as much as he is worth right now, He needs to prove over more than 1 year that he can be an effective middle six winger before I would go over 1.5 Mil. Romanov and Barron are the #2 pairing this year as well IMO.

I agree Pitlick is way overpaid here, I would go maximum 2 years 1.7M AAV

Nah, I think he comes back on a 1 year deal under 1.5M

Only way I would consider resigning him is on a deal 1 year for less than 1 Mil. Barron was as good or better than Wideman was even though he may not have been ready for a full NHL season.

He was only 20 yo tho, I would take Wideman over every other dman that we have for one game. He’s the only one who can make good passes on the PP

He may be able to make good passes on the PP but he sucks everywhere else on the ice. A defenseman's job is literally right there in his position name, defense! If all you want is someone who can pass on the PP just let Wideman walk and resign Niku at least he has age on his side.

Don’t compare Niku and Wideman, Wideman is not bad like you think he is. I see next year blue line on the PP with Drouin Petry Wideman

Oh my that is horrible Drouin and Wideman together is just asking for trouble, Hopefully Petry is able to get back to his old self like we believe he will.

Edit** perhaps Wideman has a better year under MSL but from what he showed last year he is not worth more than a mil
