Not enough for Chychrun I don’t think the isles should go for him there’s cheaper defenceman Dunn or Sanheim come to mind

Lou probably signs the real Big Z, Nikita Zadarov, so Sorokin has a new friend.

I don’t even like the Chychrun deal tbh. Seems like 20-21 season was a fluke and he is very injury prone.

Idk if Leddy is bad or not lol. I thought the real issue was Parayko throwing the puck up the boards like a mini mite.

Hes a good puck carrier and a solid passer other than that his whole game is terrible

Seems like a lot of the guys with “good analytics” don’t play a significant role in their team winning games. Dadanov and Reilly V Bailey and Leddy is a key example of that imo. But that’s entirely based on the eye test.

You would say Bailey and Leddy play a significant role in their team winning games??

Soucy

I really like Soucy too, Kulak would be a solid free agent but I’d rather him on the third pairing and Mike Reilly wouldn’t be bad could get him for a third

I mean Leddy advanced to the second round four years straight. And Bailey played a large role on both conference final teams even if he was overused. I’m just saying there has to be something to that.

Not a Mike Reilly fan. He’s a decent guy to have if he is making a million dollars, but at 3 million I expect him to be a good PK guy and he isn’t.

Like we can sit here and rip them to shreds, but I’ve seen a lot of guys with “good analytics” go home early. Put Leddy on the isles this year and I bet they make the playoffs just cause he’s not Chara.

Mike Reilly is actually a very underrated defensive d man who’s got decent offensive upside

I’ve seen his player card, but I’ve also seen him play. There is a reason Boston fans so eager to trade him.

The isles made it to the ECF because they had the best top pairing in hockey. When Pelech-Pulock were on the ice, the isles player like cup contenders, without them the isles looked like a lottery team and were saved by goaltending. Bailey put up points but he was awful defensively and he really didn’t do much against Tampa when it mattered most

That’s cherry picking lol. Teams with strong analytics can have bad players. Isles had strong analytics in both ECF runs

Look I couldn’t do what analytics guys do. There is value to what they r saying, but when u see guys who consistently win games despite their “bad metrics” it does make me question why guys who r usually on losing teams have good metrics.

I’m not even disagreeing with u. I’m just saying there r a lot of guys who grade out well, but don’t necessarily help their teams win. There is a long track record of that with both guys I mentioned.

Isles fans were eager to trade Devon Toews. No, rielly isn’t close to Toews in terms of impact , but you get the point.
