-Fits AV's system to a T
-One of the fastest players in the game and creates havoc because of it
-2 Way player

Essentially a Hagelin replacement.

Not trying to be mean but why would the Rangers do that trade with Dallas? Just curious why you think. To me it looks like a 3rd/4th liner and an AHL level goalie for a guy who i think is an NHL starter and a top 4 defenseman.

Eakin is a 25 year old, 3rd line center, who is normally good for 35 points a year, but had a bad year this year. He is a feisty, 2 way player.
Nieme is a backup at this point in his career. 4.5 m is a lot for him, but it is only a one year deal. Benoit Allair can get this guy up and running again. I trust him.

Raanta is a average starting goalie that needs a opportunity to start somewhere else. If we do not trade him, he will get taken in the expansion draft and lose him for nothing.
Staal, at this point in his career, is a bottom 6 Dman that has 5.7m cap hit for the next four years. His contract is a debacle. With all due respect, Staal looks terrible out there.

So essentially Dallas takes on Staal but gets Raanta. Rangers get out of Staal contract, lose Raanta, but get a buy low candidate in Eakin and take on a bad contract for only a year.

dude you need to watch some hockey. Ceci, Russell, and Staal are top-4 defensemen but Trouba is overrated? Make up your mind lol.

To this post, ANA says no thanks to that. Hayes is good don't get me wrong, but they'd be looking for J.T. Miller.

I think Trouba is a top 4 d-man too.

Marc Staal is a good player. Even if his contract is bad Niemi's is too, and Staal i think is a top 4 d-man.
