Short term pain Long term gain

Description
Trade out as many vets as possible. I really like the idea of swapping Hoffman for Zucker and then buying out Zucker as the ~ $2M cap hit from the buyout in 2022-2023 really doesn't hurt the team.

Draft is in MTL so try and acquire as many 1st round picks as possible to A. Increase the high end talent in our prospect pool and B. Provide entertainment for the fans in attendance.

Don't think Edmonton accepts this.
Poolparty potential is there but frustrating player. Hockey IQ definitely lacking but he has all the tools. I like that he plays North-South unlike say a Galchenyuk that tries to purposefully target opponents to draw in and deke while playing east-west.
Jesse keeps his game simple. I dont think he will ever reach original hopes but he could be a consistent 20 goal scorer that wins puck battles.

Edmonton desperately needs picks for more cup runs and they cant sign Yamo, PoolParty, Kulak and Kane. Someone has to go.

I'd say add Kassian to this deal with the Flames pick and Oilers consider it

Kassian, 26th pick, 2023 4th round pick for PoolParty would be fair. That would allow the cap space to sign Yamo, Kulak and hopefully Kane while getting some draft capital to make a run next season!

Didnt see the Drouin trade. Edm simply doesnt have the cap room unless Keith retires. That could be a TDL deal but Allen makes more sense than Drouin.

I would prefer Barrie over Kassian . Would be able to keep Barron in the AHL for a full season paired with Ghule.

Source to the nearly confirmed Weber trade? Please don’t send a link to some Habs media beat writer
