Uniting Laine w/ his idol and create CUP caliber team through FA

Created by: TotheNorth
Team: 2017-18 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: May 3, 2017
Published: May 5, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
-Huge price to pay for a guy who makes almost 10M for another 4 years but would be a generational blockbuster and would put two of the best goal scorers on the same team. Deal is done prior to expansion draft.
-Enstrom waives NMC and because of the trade above, and who would be left available he gets selected by LV in order to be flipped for more picks despite being UFA after the year because he holds more trade value than anyone left available after WPG goes 7-3-1
-After the expansion draft, the Jets use the monster trades to attract 2 huge additions in Thorton and Smith and a backup in Kinkaid. All of which are paid fair market value (Thorton maybe a bit more)
-The sheer speed/depth of this team will be like the Dallas Stars of 2 years ago but with better D. Team could easily contend for the CUP especially when you look at those powerplay lineups.

Enstrom waived NMC and because of who was left available was selected by Vegas to be moved at the deadline for more picks. (Enstrom would fetch more than Mathias or Hutchinson)

Quality > Quantity, so that's not enough to get Ovechkin. There are only two NHL players involved in the deal and neither of them are impressive. Heck, you don't even include a top prospect. I don't like Stanley.

I would, however, do Trouba (assuming he's willing to sign long-term extension), Connor, and a first for Ovechkin.
