that Barrie trade is asinine - he's not a cap dump. and Nemo/VD would be a brutal 3rd pair

I mean, *if* you can pull off shedding Barrie, Kassian, Keith and Smith, I think I'd just skip the Marchment contract and use the money to upgrade that bottom pairing (plus, 20 man roster...). Not that Marchment wouldn't potentially be a solid add, I just think a)that's a dangerous contract for a late bloomer, and b)I really, reallllllly don't like that the d-core, especially when you're relying on another late bloomer in Husso and Skinner (who is a beauty, but that's a tough spot to put him in if Husso fails).

Desharnais and Neimalainen both had good seasons down in the AHL. If they can work on their speed this summer, they would be an amazing third pair.
