Gives us 3 firsts in a deep 2018 draft, we take on some cap dumps while we are "rebuilding" in return for these picks from competing teams who can use that cap space to make a push next year, and we flip these cap dumps at the 2018 TDL for some more picks/assets hopefully.

Very young team but will give them some very necessary experience.

that TOR trade is pretty interesting. I am assuming that deal can only be made on draft day though right? The WSH trade makes the most sense to me

Yeah, would have to be made at the draft. Especially because Tanev's NTC kicks in July 1st.

I think it's a pretty fair value trade - Toronto doesn't have the pressing need to use this pick as they do for a Chris Tanev. Gives them a rock on the back end and a very reliable top line d-man, and gives us a future D-man in Cal Foote who can grow with the team.

Kapanen, as well, will be an amazing addition to the front line whereas he is pretty redundant over in TDot.

Don't really think it would be realistic to draft Oettinger 59th, you'd have a chance grabbing him with the 33rd pick depending on how teams pick that day.

Totally fair. Just not too knowledgeable about this draft past the top 35 or so picks so I plugged him in thinking goalies usually get passed over.
