Description
My plan is to make a big board for each team prior to the draft, looking at guys who's abilities would match up well with what the team in question should be looking for on draft night. I'm using my Draft Guide for the rankings, and the goal is to select multiple players within the range of each teams' selections that they should consider. These players are ranked by my ranking numerically, not necessarily who the team should value first, second, third, etc. at that spot (hopefully that makes sense). The plan is to provide explanations for the first round picks for every team, then just provide the list for rounds 2-7, unless the team in question doesn't have a first round selection, in which case I'll provide explanations for their first selection, regardless of round. If you want clarification on a specific player, comment and I'll provide it.

First 6 teams out of the way, Blackhawks are next. Three key team needs are:

Right Defense
Right Wing
Playmaking Center
ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS

First Pick
#38 Overall
2Logo of the New Jersey Devils-My Ranking: #33. Ostlund would have to fall considerably to land in the Blackhawks' lap, but it would be a slam dunk pick if it happened. Dach hasn't been as advertised, and Toews is only getting older. Chicago needs to address a future #1 center. I don't think that Ostlund will ever be a #1 Center, moreso a strong #2, but his playmaking ability would pair brilliantly with Kane and/or DeBrincat. And he is also a sound defensive player, which could pick up some of the slack from Toews' soon-to-be departure.
3Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-My Ranking: #35. Snuggerud would be a solid pick for the Blackhawks, as he could fill the need at either center or right wing. He's a high IQ player with a strong shot, good defensive ability, and a solid playmaker. He needs to work on his skating, particularly his speed, but Snuggerud looks to be a solid second line forward in the future.
4Logo of the Seattle Kraken-My Ranking: #38. Casey would provide the solid offensive, puck-moving defenseman that the Blackhawks will need. His lack of defensive ability scares me, but his abilities in the o-zone makes me think that he'll be fine as a pro. Chicago needs prospects on the right side of defense. Casey will likely be the best RD available to them, making this an easy selection.
5Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-My Ranking: #40. David Goyette might be my favorite of the four picks I've made a case for here. His skating and playmaking ability have made him extremely dangerous on the rush, which would be a great pair with DeBrincat. He's dynamic, and could help bring in a new identity to the Blackhawks as they look to continue the rebuild.

It's tricky to predict franchise's (new) way with new GM.
I agree with team needs.
1 or more of your 4 candidates for being selected at no. 38 should be available.
Davidson might prefer Goyette as 1st choice for another reason. He is Sudbury native with some coaching experience from NOJHL team Sudbury Junior Wolves. At the time he and Darryl Moxam (present coach of OHL team Sudbury Wolves) were coworkers. So Davidson absolutely has some additional info about Wolves' players, good and bad ones. Other lower-rounds selections from Sudbury could also be Delic (C), Konyen (RW) and Collins (RD). CHI might land more than one player from that team.
