Blues decline. Wasting assets on Tkachuk is a huge mismanagement. We need a top 4 LHD not a better version of Kyrou. Plus don't think Doug Armstrong will give Matthew the contract he wants

I like the Blues trade. Something like that could make sense for Calgary if Tkachuk doesn't want to sign long term.

Filip Forsberg is not coming to Calgary. And Brandon Sutter's career might be over. He has been facing long term affects from COVID 19.

Was kinda thinking if Forsberg isn’t signing in Nashville, then maybe the Mini Team Sweden Calgary has built may lure him over. Lindholm, Backlund, Jarnkrock, Andersson, Kylingston, Markstrom… pretty Swede heavy.

As for Sutter yeah, was just thinking if he had recovery what better place to come back than under Uncle Darryl. If not then Not much to slide someone else in there.

You think Armstrong is going to give Tkachuk a 9 million dollar plus contract? Army has literally said he likes to spread out the money and not paying a guy superstar money which is what Tkachuk will want.

Yes I think Armstrong would give him $9m per which he would sign for 8 years. If he goes to market though, he’s going to get $11m per and the PA would frown on him taking the discounted 9 to the blues. Don’t think he wants to stay in Calgary hence he hasn’t extended yet.

Jaime Rivers trains with both Tkachuk in off-season and has hinted on more than one occasion that he’d want to play here. Keith works for the organization too. Sure I’m not telling you anything new there but would have an inside track as far as negotiating would go. Tarasenko would have to be moved also in another trade to fit him too if this is how it played out.

Tkachuk will also put up more points next year than the players in this trade combined and for the foreseeable future so ya he is worth it from an asset standpoint and a cap standpoint and Doug is smart enough to realize that.
