Not sure why this is funny. Why is he any different than Brendan Smith or Ian Cole. Would a Staal/DeAngelo 3rd pairing be the worst thing in the world?

Something to reminder - Slavin/Bear was a better pairing on the top pairing vs Slavin/DeAngep at the beginning of the season.

Staal is slower and worse defensively than Cole
Slower and less physical than Smith

Staal is a fine pylon on a under talent team that will trap the d zone to prevent shots, not an attacking team that is looking to win.

I’m not saying he’s the answer, but I don’t think it’s worthy of a ‘lol’ as a 3rd pairing defenseman 950k AAV.

There is plenty more challenging with this post than to singularly focus on a veteran 3rd pairing defenseman.

after all these other meh moves (which are fairly likely) adding a pylon as the 3LD is the chef's kiss to an underwhelming off-season in the ACGM. definitely worth a LOL
