pretty realistic idea of what we could look like next season: a team that could potentially make the playoffs but that's pretty much it.

Not much reason for the Leafs to do this. Hill isn't a great option in net and doesn't really answer any of their problems in goal while Kerfoot was a very productive forward, up and down their lineup and on special teams.
