    Teams have to use their own picks if I'm reading the rule right.

    So you think that Yzerman wouldn't match a $6 million offer sheet on Drouin, And besides if Drouin is dealt it will be far before teams can start offer sheeting which isn't until free agency.

    Unless Yzerman is willing to give up on signing Tyler Johnson (he might be), he won't be able to afford Drouin at $6mil per year.

    IMO opinion they'll trade TJ to make room for Drouin. Brayden Points emergence has made TJ expandable. Also I'd prefer Nichushkins rights instead of of the 3rd OAP. But Dallas dilemma is the goalie situation. If the Habs get Lehtonen via trade, can they buy him out immediately?
