Pasta doesnt want to leave btw that rumor was false.
As you said it wont happen but i really dont think the leafs could get him atm. With how the market is for RD you really need to settle for Severson, Letang, Klinberg, or Barrie. Everyone esle will be way way too expensive atm

Outside of the realism of this trade which you addressed, from a bruins fans perspective its not really even close to considerable. 73 is the most important player on the team and a top 5 defenseman in the NHL. It would have to be an absolute haul for the bruins to even stay on the phone.

It would have to be matthews, and they would have to know they could extend him.

Notice, he didn’t suggest a matthews for mcavoy swap. But that is what it would take. Nothing else would make sense for boston. 24 year old top 5 NHL d men with 8 years of term don’t get traded for scraps.

i feel like if the right player came the leafs would trade marner. whats more important, a number one RD or a top line RW. i dont think marner gets traded anywhere in this confrence though
