if they start the rebuild or retool

Description
to start the rebuild or retool i think the Bs need to keep Debrusk for another season until Lysell is ready to make the jump. do everything they can to resign pasta (because he's someone you build around). they have some strong D signed with term and all under 30. good goalie in Swayman. so they need to move some other parts for some draft picks so they can either start to draft and develop or use those in other trades to bring in pieces like a true top 6 center. they'll need to sign one UFA center whether it be strome, copp or Trochek to get over the hump and have them as top 6 option for C or W in the future.

the Coyle trade to pitts was more in line if they can't bring Malkin back Coyle might serve as a 2nd or 3rd line center there. may need to retain some salary to facilitate that move.

reilly and smith could just as easily go to Arizona but the ducks have a long way to go to hit the cap floor so they take smith in the deal for 1 year to get reilly.

What would you want for Carlo if this were to happen?

Coyle won't waive his clause and I don't see PIT taking his contract just for a 2nd. Not enough for Grzelcyk, Reilly and Smith, also doubt Anaheim is the right fit.

That Trocheck contract will not age well. He's also making the current team better which is not the goal when you rebuild.

Personally I would ask a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd. Basically the Lindholm return.

Not sure I agree. I think Grze would be great for NYI, but hes out the first half of the year and the Isle's cant afford another slow start

Oh I didn't know that. Never mind. Would rather trade for Reilly.
