Description
I definitely don't think PIT would move Guentzel and don't know if 2 years left on his contract is good for the NJ but drafting Cooley to PIT would be pretty cool...ey.

devils could use the 2OA pick to trade for Fialia or pasta or tkachuk or debrincat. not to mention the guys on FA market. why would we trade it for this guy?

Jake Guentzel is a top-5 LW in hockey.
He has one of the highest hockey IQs I’ve ever seen and takes his game to the next level in the playoffs. Period.
Logan Cooley would be lucky to have the career Jake Guentzel already has.

Truer words were never spoken. But I'd understand why Devils wouldn't risk him leaving after 2 years. Unless they attached conditional picks

yeah but I feel guentzel is a pretty chill and content guy...as long as he has good centres to play with I think he'd take an extension...

Agreed. My perspective was that with Guentzels experience and sheer hard work, he'd be a perfect compliment to a player like Hughes. I think he brings what most of the players you mentioned don't have yet aside from Pastrnak. I'm sure they're keeping the pick though. As a sens fan hearing trade the 7th for help now and not liking that idea I get that perspective too
