Description
Do do you just blow it all up and start over or do you ride it out and try to stay competitive for the next two years?? PLD and Scheifele want out. Hellebuyck and Wheeler have 2 years to go. 4 key pieces are basically done competing in the Peg. It’s tough because IF they get it together they can make some noise. Maybe try again next year and then blow it up?!

1. Start by hiring a coaching staff.
2. Determine if Dubois and Hellebucyk want to stick around - if not then BLOW IT UP.

Can Chevy, hire gm and his coach and give him a calendar year to decide what’s next, draft to draft basically

I wouldn't blow it up, just retool. The prospect pool isn't bad, actually it's in the best shape in years. Not just Heinola but also Samberg are NHL ready. Chisholm might be as well if given more opportunity. Lucius and Perfetti are elite prospects.. Ehlers and Connor are signed, our shutdown C is signed, main D core (JMo, Pionk, DeMelo) is signed. I believe a retool is what we need.

If Scheifele is moved you can get a solid return. If Dubois doesn't sing long term then it's going to be at least those two years so you have that 1C after all even though for a short period. I believe you can pick interesting players that are underperfoming in their current teams and if given the opprotunity (and fitting the system) they can perform very well. I'm not sure, though, if our GM is that elite NHL calibre one to shake things up effectively but who knows.. I would personally target D. Strome and could think of several other "cheaper" pieces

Two elite players away would be my thoughts, but minimal cap room, and tough to acquire the two elite players, with scheifele and Dubois on there way out, it turns into four players needed, and with there exodus it turns into a possible free for all rush for the door. I can get behind either theory, but being Winnipeg and no bargain free agents coming and drafting middle the pack, could be tougher and tougher to turn tide on bubbling and mediocre, over possibly selling relatively high right now. Nuke Buffalo/ottawa approach I’m kind of pulling for.

Jets struggled mainly due bad coaching and development during their 2.0 history. I say give it a go, try to retool agressively, if it doesn't work, sell the sh*t out of it including Connor, Ehlers and JMo.

Going to be no more boring drafts/off-season/ and or trade deadlines going forward I bet

Burn it to the ground, theres no saving it, they're way too far behind and missing too many key pieces to make any noise in the next year or two.

Dubois is really not a guy you want around obviously so get rid of him ASAP.
