Marcus Pettersson and Matt Roy could shut down a lot together, but Pettersson just doesn't play the minutes you'd expect out of a top-4 LD. I think we are going to pay whatever it takes to get Chychrun or one of the Philly left-d's.

Marcus pettersson doesn’t play top 4 minutes because there are two better LD in Pitt, not because he can’t or doesnt have the ability. He was around 15-16 mins this year, but last year (and/or the year before, my memory isn’t great) he averaged around the 19 minutes. The reason his TOI is down is because Mike matheson had a breakout year

I think this is solid, but I would rather not sign ZAR and Heinen. This would let O’Connor play 4th line (which sounds extremely likely per Yohe) and you can sign a legit top 6 winger to play where Heinen is rn

His minutes last year were also around 16 minutes. Pitt has this amazing way of sheltering defensemen to get great value out of them, and that's the feel I have here. His strength of competition is also not great which makes me think he'd struggle bolstered into playing 19-21 minutes a night. Especially on special teams where he lacks experience (an area the Kings need desperately)

For these reasons, I don't see the fit. Personally.
