I think it's an overpayment. Fiala only fetched a 1st + prospect. Holland should try Holtby, Fleury, Husso or Campbell on free agency first. Can easily land anyone of those guys for $5.4M

This is comparable to the Varlamov deal. However one big difference: Gibson is 28 to Varlamov's 23 (at the time of the trade).

Also: Holland hates parting with his first rounders. I don't think he'd do this.
