Draft Day

Created by: SlafCaufZuki
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 30, 2022
Published: Jun. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1st Overall: Shane Wright.
13th Overall: Frank Nazar (if he’s not available, they go for the BPA with high upside).
26th Overall: Whoever is available between Noah Ostlund, Ivan Miroshnichenko and Brad Lambert.
29th Overall: Lane Hutson.

Habs go for high upside potential home run picks in the first round.
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2022 1st round pick (NYI)
NYI
  1. Anderson, Josh
Additional Details:
I know Islander fans on this site are probably sick of seeing this deal and tbh I don’t think it’ll happen irl. I only have this deal here because NRD said the Isles would be willing to give up pick 13 for Anderson and I trust him as a reliable source. As long as he goes for any first at the draft idgaf where he goes. I just want Kent Hughes to exploit old-minded GMs and get a haul for a player they should be getting rid of anyway.
2.
MTL
  1. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (MTL)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
The Oilers only have one pick in the top 100. Given Holland’s recent history of going for depth over home run picks by trading down to maximize his shots on the draft board, it is fair to assume that he might want to trade down again.
3.
MTL
  1. DiPietro, Michael [RFA Rights]
VAN
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
The Canucks don’t need DiPietro in the pipeline with the emergence of Demko and the Habs could use some goaltending prospects as they don’t have a bonafide long term solution in net despite Primeau, Dobes and Dichow all showing some sort of NHL promise in some capacity.

Josh Anderson doesn't even fit on the Isles roster - this rumor is nonsense. For reference, the Isles would have to move 2 rostered forwards to give Anderson a spot to play. Even if that happens, it wouldnt be to bring in Anderson

I think both sides benefit fr. Habs have guys like Primeau/Dobes/Dichow, but none could be potential starters. We have wayyyy too many picks and there’s literally no good goalies with upside in this draft, so i’d rather take a flyer on a guy who used to be highly touted. Vancouver doesn’t need him anyway lol
