What’s the opinion on these trades? I know that Nichushkin most likely wouldn’t be interested in coming to Winnipeg but it’s a fun idea.

Florida is already in cap hell, they are not taking on Wheeler.
Nice to see Dillon going back to SJ, but it isn't a good fit as they also have big cap issues.

You should trade PLD to Rangers for Kakko and send Wheeler( retained) to edmonton for pool and a second.

That’s fair, I just feel like Maurice would be interested in bringing Wheeler to Florida. It doesn’t make sense really unless we take back a cap dump I guess, like Hornqvist. Dillon could go anywhere for a 3rd and 5th, I just thought about how much he liked playing in San Jose and maybe that would be a reason for them to be interested in bringing him back.

Fair with Wheeler but Zito would not do that at all. Would tell Maurice to shove it tbh. Dillon, like i said, both sides totally would have interest but at the end of the day he ain't really a fit in SJ

On TradeCentre they were saying that Chevy is most likely going to try and keep Dubois for at least 1 more year to see if he can change his mind about signing long term so I don’t think they’ll trade him yet unless the offer from the Rangers blows him away. If Edmonton wants to do that trade and Wheeler agrees to waive then I’m sure the Jets would agree.

Oilers need a RD. What would DeMelo/Poink cost?

I don’t see the Jets moving Pionk, DeMelo on the other hand could possibly get traded. I don’t know what the Jets would want exactly but the offer would definitely have to blow Chevy away in order for them to move him. Those two are the only right handed defensemen the Jets have right now so they most likely aren’t going anywhere.

I think FLA wouldn't do that trade and EDM would want little bit more but hey, that lineup would look great like that! I would only replace Schmidt with a big, def minded RHD. (pretty much someone like Lyubushkin) and used that cap for depth signing/somehow squeezing Stas in

Yeah I would love to bring Stastny back, but I think he’ll likely sign with a contender so he can have a shot at the cup. For me I feel like Schmidt would be a bit of a harder guy to move because of his contract and I noticed how Heinola talked about how good of a mentor he’s been to him. Plus he just seems like a good locker room guy to keep around. I definitely see your point of view though, Lybushkin would be a cheap and effective bottom pairing defensemen. Honestly I just thought of Florida because of Maurice and Wheeler would probably waive to go there anyways. Maybe us taking back a contract like Hornqvist would help even the trade out.

Yep, you're right about Stastny, that is more realistic. With that cap dumb of Hornqvist it would make much more sense.
