Description
There has been rumors that the Sens are interested in Puljujärvi and Kassian. Now I would prefer us not adding Kassian, but I thought it was a way to help the Oilers with their Cap situation, their goalie issue while they give us some picks to use to acquire other players.

Also Ottawa keeps its 7OA and draft Kemell with it (would prefer Cutter Gauthier but I assume he was picked already when its Ottawa's turn)

Pens say yes. Im sorry but there's no way you can say no to that. I know we'd need to look for a Marino replacement, but the value in that deal is just too high we'd have to say yes to that.

Yeah I agree that you shouldn't trade a young 25 year old Defender who's actually decent, but I was just throwing this trade out there in case the Pens acc decide to trade him and to see if the value was enough or not

Yeah I know that Pens would need to find a replacement, that's why I added Thomson, he seems like he could be a decent top 4 Defender in the NHL with a bomb of a shot as well

Sorry, No, the Pens say no. If the Pens were looking to rebuild? Sure, but they're still trying to compete NOW and this trade sets them back. So yeah, you're wrong.

If Thompson was ready to that now the Sens wouldn't need Marino.

The thing is, to find a replacement at the level of Marino, it's going to take what they get in return for Marino to do it, so it winds up being a lateral move.

Look, I completely agree, but I think the Pens shouldn't try and compete right now since they are depleted in the prospect department, I don't think they should rebuild either, retool is the best option for them right now, trade maybe one or 2 players to get as maximum amount of picks and prospects as possible, and come back in 2-3 years time and the team would be younger to compete for longer time instead of making the playoffs and falling out of the 1st round every time

It doesn't really matter what you or I think. The Pens new ownership has come out and said they plan on still building a team to compete for a cup.

Yeah. They're planning on milking this team for as much as they can until Sid hangs them up. So much of what the Pens do on defense hinges on what happens with Letang. From all news out of Pittsburgh, it's more than likely Pettersson is the guy to go, but possibly Dumoulin.

If Dumoulin was right handed and played on the right side I would've traded for him, unfortunately he doesn't fit Ottawa right now
