Reilly has been bad. He has. But he's not SO bad that you would have to pay to move him. I mean I'm not saying you'd be able to get a good prospect for him but someone who you like that was drafted in the 4th-5th round and is 21? Yeah you could probably fetch that.

This is definitely me projecting Skinner to not be good and fall on his face. At the end of the day, a prospect for Jarry. Regardless of the team. Leafs. Devils. Oilers. Whoever needs a goalie.
It's less about Broberg and more about the idea of shedding Jarry to get a prospect who's close to NHL ready back. Similar to Dubas' sentiment of not wanting as many draft picks and preferring prospects.</div></div>

You wont need to spend that much on Jarry. If he returns to PIT, it'll be for less than what he's making rn (3.5mil aav)

PIT and DET fans can agree on one thing. We BOTH want that Pettersson for a third swap. Above average young player for you guys, cap relief for us while getting a decent enough asset back.

Pit says no... the trade makes zero sense for them. Pittsburgh has Matheson, Dumo, and Pettersson all on the left side signed to big money. As well, even if Brodie were to play off hand, he's not taking Letang or Marino's place so...
Then you factor in that Pit is already a super cap strapped team, if anything they'll look to move out one of those LHD not bring another one in...

Bye buddy....hope you find your daaaaaaaad.
Overall. Pretty realistic. I think the only thing I'd change is they'd keep Geno at Center. I agree he should move to wing for Trocheck but it wouldn't happen.
I think the selecting of Miro is great. I also really think you nailed your terms and aavs on signings. Only one I'd change is I think they can get Kap back slightly cheap. 2.2 to 2.6 range.

But its an old addage in sports drafts. If you feel a certain way about a player, chances are someone else does too. Go get your guy. There's no way you are the only genius out of 32 GMs...

Im from Moose Jaw, i've seen him live many times. In my opinion. He is the best MJ Warrior player since Brayden Point, and I remember when we had Morgan Reilly. I think Mateychuk is better than Reilly was in junior...

This team would be sick, but extremely unrealistic. No shot sharks move on from Timo right now. Also. If your gonna pony up 6mil on Trocheck you may as well just save a million bucks elsewhere (like for example play a young guy at the 4C spot like Hallander) and use that money you spent on Larsson and use it to bring back Geno for 7mil...
Good team but unrealistic

PIT Declines. Although I think the value there is fine, I just dont see why the Penguins would trade a top 4 young defender and not get a player back. They dont want prospects and picks, they're only going to move Marino if what they get back is an impact player. Value wise, you were fine though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hullsy09</b></div><div>How about Dylan Strome? He could play the wing, or play Center whenever carter/Malkin get too old</div></div>
I think he's a great option tbh. I would love them to snag him and try him with G and like you said once Geno retires you could transition him to Center again. He'd be right there with Kubalik, and Debrusk as options I'd wanna target. Middle 6 guys who are still young and have flexibility in their spots. Thats an ideal target.

Realistic Offseason July 2nd Rumours
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensman69</b></div><div>More so about McGinn and the picks comjng back. Take their picks coming back to us out and McGinn and maybe throw in Hallander. 1st + Hallander + late pick could probably get a deal done. But I don’t think DeBrusk is going anywhere it seems like over time his trade request has slowly diminished away</div></div>
So I see McGinn and a 1st straight up for Debrusk as an overpayment, and I also think although Boston is entering a retool, I dont think they wanna be giving up Roster players for prospects just yet. I think at least McGinn gives them a roster player that is useful to them and could fill in on their left side. Plus they get the first they liekly want for debrusk. A first if your Pittsburgh you are hoping is a very late one.
I think you could take out one of the picks boston is sending and it would be decent value still for pit but if you take out both picks I dont think its a fair deal. Debrusk is solid but he's not a roster player plus a 1st solid.

Realistic Offseason July 2nd Rumours
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hullsy09</b></div><div>I think a lot of the problems with Debrusk were with Cassidy, but now that he’s gone idk if there are still problems. I could see debrusk being a target but I wouldn’t move a first for him. I would maybe offer a 2nd, a 3rd and McGinn. I would also want to give him a look on Crosby’s line and try a guentzel-Malkin-rust line - just to try it and shake things up, could always go back if it doesn’t work.
Overall this is very well thought out and I agree with basically everything else. If the Debrusk thing doesn’t work out, I could see Marchment or Vatrano being options in UFA</div></div>
I just looked at the LW UFA market and thought BLAH. Everyone was either going to be overpaid middle 6 wingers who you are hoping can play at a top 6 level, or legit top 6 guys commanding 5mil or higher. Which PIT really cant afford. So i started looking at either middle 6 forwards at a good price, or top 6 LWs that are on the block and Debrusk seemed like a good fit. I think your right, cassidy being gone really changes the landscape for Debrusk, but as far as the latest rumours are concerned he's still OTB.
There is a few people that you could target for 2nd line LW.
Pony up in FA for Burakovsky, Palat, Nichuskin, Neidereiter, etc
Risk it in FA on a middle 6 guy like Mikheyev, Domi, Marchment, etc
Resign a guy like EROD or Heinen for the top 6
Go after high value guys in a trade like JT Miller, or Necas
or go after mid value wingers in trade like Debrusk, or Kubalik. I prefer the last option.

How much more value wise do you think they'd want. I saw multiple people do a 2nd and 3rd for him. I've seen a few people overpay and do like a first and a high end prospect. What more would you add from a Pens perspective.

Pens say yes. Im sorry but there's no way you can say no to that. I know we'd need to look for a Marino replacement, but the value in that deal is just too high we'd have to say yes to that.

Retain more than that on Meyers and Pit says yes. Taking on meyers adds negative value to the trade, he's not an asset, you have to pay assets to give him up.
If you retained much more on him then maybe Pitt accepts. Miller is nasty but meyers tanks that trade

solid team
I'm from Moose Jaw. I've seen Mateychuk play live many times. I will say this, with the exception of Brayden Point. I cant remember a better player in my lifetime. I'm not one to call certain hometown guys elite because of my bias either. I was quick to call Brett Howden a bad pick in the first round cause I'd seen him play live enough to know. Same with Brayden Tracey (however the jury is still out on him cause he is young). I will say this. Mateychuk should be a top 15 pick, at least. He is the best Moose Jaw warrior i have ever seen, if he slides to 21 and we grab him I will literally scream with Joy. He is a left handed kris letang I promise you. His questions about defending ability are non-existent to me. I watched him absolutely shutdown Connor Geekie and Matty Savoie every time they were on the ice with him, yes I know Winnipeg won that playoff series but I promise you, those two "elite" guys were never effective when Mateychuk was on them.
