Who do they draft in your opinion

I have thought very deeply on this haha

There are 3 scenarios.

1. Someone who simply shouldnt be there falls to 21. This is especially possible due to the nature of this draft for various reasons. It is an easy choice to take that player who is ranked like top 10 or wherever

2. They take one of the 4 “high risk, high reward” players: Yurov, miroshnichenko, Mateychuk, or lambert. I think it is more likely than not that some of these guys are gone, but i think it is fairly likely that ONE of them is available

3. Then that leaves the more likely candidates to be available. Some of my favourite guys include Gaucher, Östlund, and McGroarty. Also, I wouldn’t hate Kulich, Ohgren, snuggerud, or Howard.

3b. A guy who I think is in between 2 and 3 is frank Nazar. He may not be available but I would be happy with him.

I could go more in depth here but I don’t want to ramble lol

All things considered I would say the most likely pick would Nathan Gaucher.

I’ve seen Gaucher in the second round. He should be around by then. Do you want a dman or forward or even trading down. Another thought is where do you think Brennan goes ( top goalie projected mid second)

Our two biggest needs are easily Center and dman. But I think we should be drafting the best player available unless it’s super close, since our prospect pool is weak all around.

I see Brennan going late second - third round. I don’t think we should touch him though, as goaltending is probably our least needed position

I didn’t expect him to Pitt that was more general than just Pittsburgh. Poulin and broz are Pittsburgh’s headline prospects. Tankathon.com has gaucher at 33 and lines.com has him at 36. I saw gaucher at 13 area near the beginning of the season

Pronman just had gaucher at 13 recently. He just seems like the type of player Hextall would like, not necessarily who I would take. He just has a really high floor, big body, leader ect

If it were up to me I would take Miroshnichenko

Miri was number 2 at one point before Hogdkins was diagnosed. He is such a wild card on where he could go. Should you disappointed if they passed?

Nope, though the only other small chance is Troch comes in for Genos spot but that’s about it

My personal pick at 21 is Mateychuk/Lambert/Korchinski/Snuggerud

Also I think Gaucher probably goes a few spots before us but man I’d love to take him if he was there when we select

My pick at 10 would be anyone of the lambert, Nazar, miroshnichenko, yurov, Mateychuk group if they were available. Then probably one of Gaucher of McGroarty, or any other member of that group of 7 I listed

The way it’s trending I think he has a decent chance of being available, he would be tie for who I’d want the most of players that are realistically available

I thought there was a near 50% percentage chance of him being available before the Fedotov incident. Unless the team has info that we don’t have affecting Russian players I would be pretty upset if we passed on him. Unless of course someone crazy dropped

Im from Moose Jaw, i've seen him live many times. In my opinion. He is the best MJ Warrior player since Brayden Point, and I remember when we had Morgan Reilly. I think Mateychuk is better than Reilly was in junior...

I hope Hextall feels the same way.

I hope Hextall feels the same way and every GM picking before us doesn't....

But its an old addage in sports drafts. If you feel a certain way about a player, chances are someone else does too. Go get your guy. There's no way you are the only genius out of 32 GMs...

Seems pretty accurate to me. I've got Letang signing at 8mil AAV - Geno at 7. Backup goalie at 1.5. Pettersson dumped for POJ saves 3mil. Leaves us with a little over 9mil to sign 3 middle six wingers if my math is right. Not great, but could be worse I guess. Dumping McGinn for that extra 2mil would be great.
