Arizona Coyotes 2 of 32 Realistic

Created by: oilnate
Team: 2022-23 Arizona Coyotes
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 15, 2022
Published: Jul. 2, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Continuing on with this series trying to finish before the draft. The Coyotes keep stockpiling picks. Again not what I would do necessarily with each team but what I think could happen.

Trades:
-Tatar trade, Devils unload cap space and Arizona gets a player they can flip at the deadline.
- Brossoit gives cap relief to Vegas and Arizona gets a solid backup
-Islanders trade the Islanders shed a bunch of cap and add Ghost who can spark some pick movement from that back end. Coyotes get a pick and Bailey can help mentor a young locker room.
-Blues trade I know could draw fire. Coyotes get the picks they want. A couple middle 6 forwards to provide some grit and Miikola had some potential. I still think this is a win for the Blues as that top 4 d would be lethal.
-Dallas pays more then vegas cause Khudobin has a bigger contract and I have him as the third goalie.

AHL:
The Coyotes are gonna let prospects take their time the biggest trick was trying to stay under 50 players with entry level contracts will need to be signed. Khudobin will backstop a team that should be full of young entry level deals.

Goalie: Vejmelka and Brossoit will split duties this year Khudobin or Saterri if injuries arise. See if Brossoit can bounce back and Vejmelka potential while at the same time I don’t think the Coyotes are too concerned with being good this year

Defence:
Stralman reportedly likes it on Arizona and can help mentor this young team. Losing Ghost and Chychrun will hurt the offense from the backend so they’ll be looking for Timmons to stay healthy and Miikola to step up.

Forwards:
The additions of Tatar and Bailey will help this young group along, look for the young guys to take another step meanwhile wait another year for Guenther and Cooley to come in. Bottom 6 is physical and big and that’s how you wanna play as a rebuilding team when you’re waiting on new talent Play hard play physical and wait.

Overall:
I expect this team to be a bottom 5 team again but hopefully some of their young players can take another step forwards. They accrue a lot of assets and hopefully can one day build an actual arena to play in

I think so too but based on an article I was reading they listed this as an offer that could be fair

I also wasn’t sure who had more value Miikola or pernunovich

Doan won't sign this year. I've actually talked to him and he said it's very unlikely right now.

Perrunovich would have more value. He’s basically the same player as Krug tho so Blues might be more apt to trade him than Mikkola. Where was this article? Barbeshev wouldn’t have a lot of value to Zona because he would leave after one year. Assuming they were going to flip him I guess or 3 way. He would have a lot of value to contenders as cheap and provides a lot. Kostin has very little value right now. Think Chychrun would have been moved already if this would get it done but who knows.

Do you by chance have that article? I’d be interested to see what it says. Perunovich offers more value, but I also don’t know if Armstrong would part ways with Perunovich just yet. My guess is they’ll keep Perunovich and trade Krug to Detroit in 3-4 years when they become a solidified playoff team. Perunovich is projected to be a better more rounded Krug from what I’m seeing.

As for the trade offered in this scenario. Barbashev can prove his worth on a shallow Arizona offense. If he puts up 50+ points he can be in line for a major salary raise. Mikkola would thrive in a full-time Top 4D role, he really is the type of player that plays how he’s put in the lineup (if you give him a lot of minutes then he’ll play well there, but if you have him as a reliable bottom pairing guy then that’s what he will do). Kostin would for sure make the lineup in Arizona and I can see something like this sparking his productivity, he just needs a fresh start. I would say St. Louis wins this trade overall, but the unknown potential is there for Arizona in the future too. I mean Barbashev traded at TDL with retention could fetch a 1st if he keeps pace from last year.

I can’t find the one that discussed barbashev the picks are my own. But the kostin barbashev and Miikola I saw somewhere beginning to think it was this one and I mixed Barbashev for Bolduc

Yeah I remember that one with proposing Bolduc for the package. I don’t think Blues do that as it would sell the farm. With Chychrun’s injury issues, I’d stay away from giving Perunovich/Bolduc AND a 1st
