That’s fair. I bet they can move back and acquire some picks or pieces to help now with that 11th pick.

Yeah that’s fair I did copy and paste to be easy for me. But 16th and Perunovich for the 12th is a solid move.

Dang. My logic is flawed. Before I had Yakemchuk at 9 going to Calgary but changed it to Iginla.

I think Buchnevich would be Buch + TOR 2nd for 11th and maybe a B level prospect

That’s fair. Not sure what Philly needs but feel like they can still get a substantial prospect at 16.

Armstrong end of season press conference
I think we need to move Buch still and if anything we keep Binnington for at least next season. They we explore moving him if Hofer continues trending in the right direction. As for Buch, if our plan is to develop internally. We have Neighbours and Bolduc on the left side, Kyrou and Snuggerud on the right side. Then we have Stenberg playing one of those sides on the 3rd line. I don’t see how Buchnevich fits into that long term. If we sign him to a 4-5 year deal that’s fine but I don’t think 6+ makes sense for the Blues.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BDHockey</b></div><div>I would assume that the Blues try to explore many avenues to trade up, but my from my point of view Jiricek feels like a safety net of sorts. I am pretty confident that if no team is willing to do a trade like last year that we will have Jiricek at the very least to pick up with the 16th pick. Despite injuries he still has good 2nd pair potential.
My bigger hope is that we can pick up someone like Alfons Freij in the second round.</div></div>
Who is Freij? What’s the situation with him?

Plans if Dvorsky is Ready
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>I'd imagine Dickinson is #1, but also likely the hardest one to trade up for. I'm sure Buium is right up there. Obviously, Silayev is kinda like a lefty Parayko, so he'd be great even if it takes him a couple years to get out of Russia (which it might not considering current events).
Judging from past trade ups, our 2nd can probably squeak us into the top 10. Of course, we also have the NYR 2nd and two 3rds in our pocket, plus all our picks moving forward.
I think there's a solid chance 8-10 could score us Buium. For Dickinson, we probably need at least 6th. Then theres Silayev and even Yakemchuk who could be exceplent snares. I'm not so high on Parekh because he’s fairly awful defensively.
We've been killing drafts recently, so I'm confident we'll end up happy. In fact, our draft crew is probably the part of the organization I have the most confidence in by a good margin.</div></div>
I think you are right here. Our scouting and draft crew has been killing it since the Jake Neighbours pick in recent years. I think trading up is the best approach as like you said I’m not high on Parekh or Jiricek from my end. Silayev would be awesome to draft and it seems like he has been falling as of late. I anticipate him to continue to fall since Russia won’t be competing in the WJC in a month.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>I see what you're going for with the Buch trade, but I don't think Washington bothers with him and if they did, I do not like the return.
I also see zero point in splurging on a winger. If we go get a veteran forward, it should be a 2C placeholder so we can move Schenn to the wing and nothing else. And if Binnington and Buch are gone, what is even the point? Those are all win now signings. And most of them are too high a salary anyway.
I also have no clue how you got the idea Hague can run a PP. You must be mixing him up with someone else. Don't really care to hand them Perunovich anyway. Any salary moved out of Vegas should be bargain basement cheap because they are mega-f***ed as things stand.
I do like the idea of Hague, though, and would not be mad at Frenchy coming home to star some emotion in the group when things get hairy or dull edged.
That said,</div></div>
I meant Perunovich can run the PP for Vegas, if that is what you are referring to. I was trying to say that Vegas would be getting an offensive minded defenseman that is cheap and can run a PP unit.
Outside of that, great points. I’m interested to see what we do at the draft. I’m not loving our options at 16

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Beauterham</b></div><div>I think it's not out of the realm of possibility Dvorsky will make the team (although I'd rather him start the season in Springfield), especially now Snuggerud opted for another year with te Gophers. However, don't expect too much from Dvorsky if he does make i, as It will probably be in a similar role as Thomas played in his first season with limited icetime.
BTW, I'd rather keep Hayes if the return is only going to be a 6th after retaining on him. We're not going to be contenders next season and we need warm bodies anyway.
That Binner trade is brutal for the Blues BTW... After how he played this season Binner at full value is probably already a 1st round pick, not even mentioning us retaining on him. I also don't see why we're adding a 2nd?
Ryan Chesley: we need a much better prospect if we're getting WSH 1st as a return.</div></div>
All great points. I think maybe we somehow sneak out of this draft with 3 firsts potentially. Find a suitor for Binnington and Buchnevich. Dvorsky can start in the AHL. The point I’m making is I don’t think we need to sign a 2C for the sake of having Dvorsky fill the role sooner than later.

Quietly the Worst Season Possible
Great points. I think the positive outcome from this year is that we should have a better idea of where we want to go in the near future. If this cast could not get us back to the playoffs then clearly Armstrong has work to do to make things work out again. I think we need to move Buchnevich this offseason. And then unfortunately I think we should tank and have the kids play next year. We have more opportunities to make moves when all these NTCs become M-NTCs in the 2025 offseason. I think we need to focus on what’s coming up in the system and who we want our core to be centered around in the future.
Centers: Thomas and Dvorsky
Wingers: Snuggerud, Neighbours, Kyrou and Keller/Tkachuk (sign one of them in 2028 offseason)
Depth forwards: Bolduc, Dean, and Stenberg
Defense: Parayko and Lindstein
Goalie: Hofer
Let’s make a decision on Kyrou, let’s get some assets for Buchnevich. Lets make smart free agency signings. Draft some more promising guys.

Definitely not sure that buch would go there but that seems like good value for a guy on the last year of his contract. A young #2/3 defenseman plus a first is pretty good. I do think they would want the 24 first though</div></div>

New York gets a good top 6 forward, sure, however, they are filling a hole to gain another one here. Lindgren is a huge part of their defence. Loosing him would make that defence core horrible!</div></div>
That all makes sense. Wonder who’d be a good partner for St. Louis in a Buchnevich trade
