Description

Here you add a C Trocheck on a 3 yr 5.85 FA contract. You trade Dumba and Jost to clear some cap and acquire Necas to replace Fiala on a bridge contract at 3/3.85. You sign DeSmith for backup goalie for 2/2.0. And sign Middleton to a 3 yr 1.75 extension. This makes your roster pretty decent for 22-23, but puts you in the same boat cap wise for 23-24. With some tough decisions to make for the roster that year.

You could experiment with the C position too. Rossi and Necas can both play C, which is better at C remains to be seen.

I like Trocheck, but I don't know if it's smart to sign him. Kulikov is coming off the books, and you need to figure out your goaltender until Wallstedt is ready, and Boldy is going to get paid when substantially when his contract expires.

If Trocheck would take that, he would remain a Hurricane. He is looking that level AAV for 6-7 years.

While I like Dumba, trading Necas for a rental and a bust isn’t good business
