Pettersson gets a 2nd. That trade is silly.

Pettersson is literally a player that the penguins are trying to cap dump so they can bring back their other UFA's. Don't overvalue him

Your'e telling me not to overvalue a player you're giving up nothing for and putting in your top pair? Good job, bud. Try again.

Uh, just because he's on the top pair doesn't mean I'm overvaluing him. I just see him as a better fit. Awful logic, guess Jan Rutta is elite given he plays first pair in Tampa?

Yeah, nice try, but bad example. Pens laugh.

This idea that because a team wants to dump cap means they can't get value is 100% wrong by the way. The Pens aren't in a situation like Vegas. Getting cap off the book would let them build a better team, but they can still financially keep Geno, Letang and still ice a good team. The Pens aren't without leverage and certainly aren't taking that joke of a deal you put together.

I dunno, great example. Just because you're on the first line doesnt mean your value as such. Trading a second for Pettersson is absolutely absurd. He's not that great and his contract is bad. And comparing it to say, the recent McDonagh deal, this really isn't so bad.

You're definitely trolling. In case you haven't noticed, NHL teams don't always play their top 2 Dmen on the top pair... in the case of detroit, it isn't that good. Based on your logic, I could have a d core of Schenn, Bogosian, Ceci, Russell, Juolevi, and Myers, and whichever two are on the first pair have good value? No, not the case. I've provided you with other instances where mid level or worse D played first pair minutes, but you claim it's a bad argument. I really do not see why you're so pressed about this

Dude, I'm not trolling. You're doing something very typical to this board. People like to give up nothing, argue a player isn't worth anything and then put them into their top lines or top pairs. Your'e not digging your way out of this lol

Pettersson is a very good 2nd pairing dman making market rate and is in his prime years. He's worth a 2nd.

Ignore this Pens fan. He's an insecure troll who picks fights. The hockey knowledge just isn't there. It's basically pretending all Pens players are all stars and future Hall of famers. He's been obsessing about Detroit trading a 2nd for Pettersson for months. It isn't happening. A 3rd is fair. Frankly I don't even care if this trade happens. I'm sick of hearing about it. If Pettersson is so great he wouldn't be available.
MMXD liked this.

I figured. I have never met anyone who though Pettersson was worth anything

Really? Countering value on a player that he's getting for nothing, arguing he isn't that good and putting him in the top pair is trolling? Ok.
