For Nylander it's more than you have here, Fabbro although a nice piece we have Lilly in that spot and also have Sandin so the added defenseman isnt that interesting.
Leafs would really be looking for all futures with no cap coming back that's just my opinion - I'd have to say if Nashvilles 2022 1st rnd isn't in the picture then the trade talks stop

that's fair, maybe poile does tolvanen + farrance + 2022 1st rd but at that point we're giving too much of our future away. So probably not a good chance preds trade for nylander in any case

It really depends on what stage Nashville believes The bare in and if they intend to resign Nylander. I do think Nylander is a good target for the Preds and would fit really nice there, he is one of the best puck carriers in the league and has very very good possession stats, drives the offense when he wants to. It's a good starting point you proposed here

The other thing to remember is Nashville would be trading away potential future which is never guaranteed for a guarantee of what Nylander brings - we all know his pros and his cons so there is no real negative surprises for Nashville

I don't think any Preds fan has a read on our team or direction after the trade yesterday and Forsberg contract stuff lol. Went from borderline playoffs, to Forsberg and one more top/mid six forward from possible contention for a couple years. If they can't do a reasonable trade for someone like Nylander, they'll probably get someone for cheaper in free agency or wait awhile til the trade deadline. Leafs on the other hand just need to polish the roster with where matthews and marner are, I think they finally go on a run if the atlantic division regresses like its looking like

preds also might look for some forward with 3 years left (instead of nylanders 2) to sign once johansens contracts up

I'd have to agree on the Preds seems like they are no man's land (happens quite often for a few years after a good long run) management and owners need to decide if it's re build time, is it tinker time or is re tool time and all 3 options are viable for Nashville

It's not the worse one I have seen- saw an Ottawa one that was White and Murray lol. Seems like a decent enough return, I just think it does not match the Leafs and their window. Fabbro I really like, but I don't know what impact he has on the Leafs right now, especially since they have their own young dman. I don't think Leafs really need to add on defense (unless they move Muzzin), but if they feel compelled, then I would want someone who could play top competition with Muzzin or Brodie. Maybe Fabbro gets there, but he's not there now. And Tolvanen I was like when I watch him, but it still seems to be missing for him. And I really don't think he comes close to what Nylander is as a player.

Not a bad idea. We seem to love staying in no mans land and being complacent, I just fear either overpaying for someone like garland or selling the whole future for a guy similar to nylander. I think do the retool route and try to get forsberg a deal and add someone like neiderreiter if the price is right. You are correct many options are open - I'm on the side of try to retool and win while josi is still in his prime and saros looks borderline elite. Seems like 60% of people in Nashville want to retool, while 40% want to rebuild. While just about everyone is terrified of Poile's decisions and want him out

Completely agree and that's why it wouldn't make sense for TML. And you're right about Fabbro and Tolvanen, Fabbro has progressed but no one has a read on his future, while Tolvanen will show flashes but never really live up to what we want him to be. Both still young but who knows... the more I think about it, I really do believe Toronto is knocking on the door of a playoff run. And to your first point that Sens fan needs some help haha
