Team: 2022-23 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 6, 2022
Published: Jul. 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Norris is a good 2C and overpaying him will stop Ottawa cup chances.

Trades can be varied, but the acquisitions would all be doable and good for the team.

Edmonton will want a more impact full player for jp if he gets moved.

I think the Norris contract will come in around 6m. 5 would be great and could see that on a bridge deal but if it's more than 3 years then I don't see it

Gonna have to give up a lot more than a middle six forward on an expiring contract to get a young RH top pairing D with term left....

Edmonton is apparently having trouble even getting a 2nd round pick for him. You may have to lower your expectations. The return may be as low as a 3rd round pick. He's not as good as Edmonton fans make him out to be.

Norris will very likely wind up with the Nick Suzuki contract. I would expect it to be 6 or 7 years for $7.8 million.

Well biggest reason why I know that's bs is oilers wouldn't be looking for draft capital in a trade they are looking to improve roster and contend for a cup now wouldn't make any sense to move a top six young winger for a draft pick.

Totally agree that they should be looking for a forward or defenseman. Unfortunately, it's looking like Edmonton isn't going to be able to get as much as they hoped for him. The best offer that's being reported by insiders is that they're being offered only a 3rd round pick.

Then they'll keep him. They have plenty of cap space. Holland didn't sell low on Jesse 2 years ago and he's not about to do so now.

I'd like to know what insider would suggest that.
