Not sure Nemec plays this year. Probably best to let him play in AHL and give Walsh a good look this year.

With Nemec being picked at #2. Does this make Walsh, Mukhamadullin and even Smith expendable? These pieces can definitely be used to get NJ some high picks back and of course a Top 6 fwd if NJ doesn’t go the UFA route

Walsh expendable for sure ... The other two may be tough to get fair value right now; Smith, after sophomore slump ... Makhamadullin possibly the Russian factor, plus team may want to see him more in NA before they decide to jettison.

I'm wondering if this puts Sever on block, if extension talks are not to Fitz liking.

I think Severson is traded if Nemec shows real potential and pretty much shines. Wouldn’t make sense for Nemec to be on 3rd pairing and have Severson eat minutes with an extension. Will be interesting to see how the next year unfolds
