If the pens aren’t able to re-sign Malkin, trade for Miller, or sign Trocheck/Copp, they maybe interested in a guy like Monahan or Backlund. But they won’t pay a 2nd and probably wouldn’t need Kylington since we are trying to get rid of a LHD as it is.

I agree with everything you said except the fact that we may be interested in Monahan/Backlund. We cannot afford that Monaghan contract and the risk that comes with it. Backlund may be a different story but an absolute no for Monaghan.

Monahan is in his final year of contract. So it’s not awful. It would be a last resort type of thing though and we’d definitely not pay for him. Or if we did it would be like a 7th round pick or Ahl scrub

And so is Zucker. That’s 11m+ in cap among 2 players with one year left on their contracts. Wouldn’t work.

Yeah it would. The idk what Zucker would have to do with anything here lol. I’d rather have a bloated contract for only one year than 2. I mean Backlund + Zucker would be almost 11 million too. So I really don’t get where Zucker comes into the equation
