If Arizona retains, sure. Edm wont retain any money on a 2 year term after overpaying to dump Kassian. That move made little sense when the buyout was only 667k this season and the cap is going up sooner rather than later. Seems teams outside of Arizona will do everything NOT to retain money.

They paid to move Kassian. They certainly will move Barrie for little to nothing when Bouchard is ready to take over PP duties. Dumping Barrie means going after Campbell/Giroux/Kulak. Cap space is the asset.
