Isles have Barzal, Pelech, Pulock, Dobson, Romanov and Sorokin to compensate.

if Dobson takes the next step the defense is in the same stratosphere (in the sense of an overall outlook cause no one here touches makar) but my god the forwards are not even in the same galaxy we’re talking 3 maybe 4 guys you could easily justify 10+ mil with

I think Lou is betting on bounce back years from Palmieri, Beauvillier and Bailey. And he probably thinks if he gets internal improvement from Bellows and Wahlstrom that will fix the roster. I’m also willing to bet Parise gets a lot of time with the 4th line and Martin plays like 50 games.

The best part about this offseason is knowing that if they do keep Bailey, the isles will miss the playoffs. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes - only way I will be content is if the team fails miserably.


Buddy I’m on your side here. We need more players that blindly crash into the boards, we need less NHL talent if we plan on winning. You have made some great points and I’m fully onboard.

If Oliver Wahlstrom can “blindly crash into the boards” and outscore Josh Bailey over the past two years, what does that make Bailey. Surely not an NHL caliber player based on your logic, right?
