To answer your question. Is he NHL capable? Most players that are passed over in two drafts, is because their skating in not NHL good enough.
We have seen forever, hundreds maybe thousands of great juniors/NCAA/AHL players , never get a sniff of the NHL do to their skating or their ability to process plays at the elevated speed needed to be NHLers.

He’s a really good skater one of his strengths actually and has great hockey iq

Thanks for the insight. If he has those two traits,,,,,gee hard to figure why some team wouldn't take a flyer on him. Leafs seem to loaded with AHL centres. For Morrison's sake, sign elsewhere and try to get good AHL ice time

Double overager, hard to justify his success now not being an age gap thing. Not to mention he played on a pretty stacked team
