The bones of this are interesting, but Calgary is making out like bandits. I highly doubt trading JG's rights gets anything remotely like that back in value. And by highly doubt, I mean like 99.9%.

Flyers need ton of cap help to get JG though and if they want to get him at 8 years to spread cap might bend more. Hindsight - Should have done Konecny rather than Farabee

Why would the blues give up perunovich and kyrou instead of just waiting three days and trying to sign Matthew tkachuck?

He’s an rfa not ufa. Whatever offer the blues gave him as an rfa would be matched by flames. Next year if/when he goes to market, Blues won’t be the highest bidder so if want him, my feeling is need to trade for him this off-season but I’m often wrong so who knows
